Welcome To Orasa Designs Photography Workshops...

Orasa designs, as part of the commitment we made with the school activities, now offer a set of photography workshops.

The workshops were developed, as Orasa designs recognized a need to provide a practical environment in which the developing photographer can experiment with guidance to hone there skills as photographers.

All images taken during the workshops will be entered into a competition, where the best photos from the basic study and the best photos of the advanced study will win prizes.

We have two main photography courses we provide.

Basic Study of Photography

In the basic study of photography we will cover all the basic technical components of photography during the first half of the workshop. This is required as most prospective clients had little or no exposure to the basics of photography. We will explain the significance of each component and assist the participant in making the logical connections between the various components.

During the second half of the workshop we will host a practical session. During the practical session we will guide the budding photographer in taking their own photos based on the discussions held during the first part of the workshop. Photos taken will be discussed and, where possible, retaken according to advice to show the difference. The practical session will be an interactive process and will be geared toward providing a practical presentation of skills attained, where lessons can be learned through trail and error.

Wherever possible we will attempt to group participants with interests that align together to be able to better focus the practical session.

Advance Study of Photography

During the advanced study of photography we will assume a basic knowledge of photography. We therefore will not spend any time on the concepts covered in the basic study.

Wherever possible we will also attempt to group like minded participants together to be able to tailor the advanced study better, i.e. action or wildlife photographers won't be grouped with budding fashion or glamor photographers.

Unlike the basic study of photography the advanced study will be held over two days. The first day will be a short theoretical component followed by a practical component. The second day will be dedicated to the processing of images taken. Images taken will also be discussed in detail.
